Our Backflow Testing Process
Thorough. Compliant. Reliable.
1. ASSESSMENT
Before we begin testing, our qualified backflow specialists conduct an on-site assessment to:
- Identify all existing backflow prevention devices
- Check device locations against your plumbing schematics
- Evaluate risk levels and potential cross-connections
- Review your compliance history and council requirements
This step ensures we understand your property’s unique needs and that every device is correctly positioned and appropriate for its hazard level.
2. TESTING
Using calibrated testing equipment, we carry out a full backflow test to check:
- Valve integrity and pressure differentials
- Sealing function under simulated backflow conditions
- Signs of corrosion, wear, or damage
- Proper drainage from relief ports (for RPZ devices)
All testing is completed in accordance with AS/NZS 2845.3 and local water authority standards. Our team works quickly to minimise any disruption to your water supply or business operations.
3. REPORTING
After testing, we prepare a clear and concise report that includes:
-
Device details (make, model, serial number, location)
-
Test results and pass/fail status
-
Any required repairs or replacements
-
Risk classification and recommendations
-
Photo documentation (if required by council)
We provide digital and hard copy reports for your records and compliance tracking.
4. CERTIFICATION & SUBMISSION
If your device passes, we issue an official Backflow Compliance Certificate. We also:
- Submit the test report to your local water authority or council (e.g., Icon Water, Sydney Water, etc.)
- Register or update your device details in their database
- Add your property to our Annual Testing Reminder System, so you never miss a deadline
If any device fails, we’ll provide a repair or replacement plan and re-test after rectification to get you certified.
